so yeah nycb horns be proud of yourselves :) our performance may not have been perfect but we did our best and it was better than ever so we're not gonna let something like an award get us down are we? :D

COME WHAT MAY
hey my beloved jnrs, (:
i hope you guys are feeling better now, i mean, afterall, what is there to be sad about! i know, maybe the result wasn't up to our expectations, but rmb what i wrote in my letter to you guys? it doesn't matter what the results are, what matters is what you think of your own performance.
from the alumni of NYCB, we're proud of how much you guys have achieved. we're extremely proud of how well you guys sound and really, you guys have improved so much it's so heartwarming (: in our opinions, we believe that you guys should have at least been awarded a gold, but that's our perspective.
so what if the judges don't agree with our opinions? does it really matter? music, like all kind of Arts, is something subjective and there's no definite answer to whether a band is good or not. whats the difference if you guys get a gold or a silver? it's JUST some award. it DOESN'T necessarily mean that's your standard of playing. right now, people outside from alumni and NYCB believe that you guys played so well that the judges should have awarded you a gold at least. that means these people out there have felt your emotions, your passion within the music; they've managed to be touched by your playing, so congrats! you guys have managed to convey all these into your music! and that's one of the biggest achievements musicians can obtain too!
it's probably not easy to say that yes, nycb was awarded silver for now, but like what kay yun
(darn it, idk how to spell her name D: oops), what you should take back with you are the memories; the memories of you guys working hard
TOGETHER, memories of the whole band playing and moving
TOGETHER, memories that we are still
one band, one band which has achieved something more than the satisfaction an award can provide, you guys have achieved what professional musicians aim for - ability to convey their emotions into their music, the ability to touch their audiences and the fact that you've played your best, and more! you guys have bonded with each other so much that really, it's just one big family (:
(HAHA really cannot deny this point, the snrs all feel so out when they return because .. idk! we're just so left out ): hahaha)
so c'mon horny hornies! :D pick yourself up and
smile! because i am really proud of you guys and in my eyes, you guys are still the best band everrrr!

Okay I will calmly and coherently list out things
Packing List :D
Band U
· Vest
· Blouse
· Scarf
· Skirt (wearing there)
· Shoes

· Blue tack/rubber band/string/etc. (for Sarah’s sliding slide)
· Water bottle
· Mouth piece
· Band tee (wearing there)
· Band jacket (optional:)
· Camera
· Letters/presents J
Misc things (for the hardcore kiasu, i.e. me)
· Natural/black kiwi for band shoes!
· Screwdrivers
· Hair clips/band/tie/etc. – black
-Okay I'm sure there's more. Bring anything else you think we need and I'd missed outThings to take note of:)
- Always always WATCH MS CHONG open up your eyes
- Always always listen out! Listen out to our intonation across the section/band, listen to know when to come in and most importantly, listen to the music and cherish/enjoy every moment on stage. open up your ears
- Be alert! haha reminds me of low crime doesn't mean no crime
- Remember to pick up horn/come in/play/cut off/put down horn together, as a section :)
- Remember where we're sitting on stage! Which is one seat from the extreme right --> *remind Sherena and I*
More things to take note of:)
- Report for national anthem at 6.55 am wearing band skirt, blue band tee, and a big smile on your face! :) Oh and no slippers
- Rmb to bring aforementioned, and some more. I hope I haven't left out anything :S
- "If something's gonna happen, it's gonna happen. Even if you feel anxious about it, it won't change anything. So you might as well not be anxious and await in a relaxed and happy mood." -- wise words from an elfin friend

Monday, 4days - band prac report at 2.30. first day of syf'09 yeah the results are out!
Tuesday,
3days - band prac as per normal; -
HAIR CHECK; - second day of syf'09
Wednesday,
2 days - band prac report at 2.15 pm; - third day of syf'09
Thursday,
1 friggin day - band prac as per normal; - fourth day of syf'09
Friday -

Yes, we can :) I wanted to put Obama's campaign poster thingum here when I realised silly celiney already did on her blog. Oh well ): Anyway yeah don't know if I've told you guys this often enough but you're a great section:D, in terms of.. everything:) and no it's not just me who thinks so :DD I'm sorry if I have been pretty hard on you guys...I still have much to learn (like patience, for instance. and the art of taking sectionals) but you know (or at least I hope so) that I LOVE YOU ALL (HORNS SECTION) <33333
Okay mushiness aside, take good care of yourselves everyone! The weather has been crazy (what's new?) and many people are falling sick (again, what's new?): so take care!! Drink lots of water and all that :D
